SpeakerBox Wins Gold at The Stevie Awards
On Friday, after recognizing our own Lisa Throckmorton as a finalist for the Washington Women in PR Woman of the Year award, four of us headed to New York’s Marriott Marquis for the Women in Business Stevie Awards. The Stevies are a set of prestigious business awards, and every year the Stevies honor the business achievements of female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run.
SpeakerBox received the gold award, over five other finalists, for the Women-Run Workplace of the Year — More than 10 Employees — in the marketing/PR category. SpeakerBox was recognized because of its revenue growth, community involvement and professional development, while maintaining a commitment to work-life balance.
This year’s event was well attended by approximately 400 finalists in a variety of categories, who were recognized for their extraordinary stories and business success. Historically, the Stevies recognizes between 30-40 percent of total nominations with an award at the gold, silver or bronze level.
Eight other companies from the Washington, D.C. region won Stevie awards – for a total of four gold trophies, two silvers and five bronze medals. Also a shout out to client Red Hat that won three silver and two bronze awards at the event.
Congratulations to all the winners and to the SpeakerBox team and President & CEO, Elizabeth Shea. Here’s to another great year!
