About the role

REQ, a digital marketing agency, is seeking a qualified candidate for a Post-Grad Intern: Copywriting. This paid role comes with potential for professional growth and the opportunity to develop into a full-time position. 

The ideal candidate is a writer with insatiable curiosity, a love for storytelling, a meticulous editorial eye, and a desire to work at the center of a fast-paced, dynamic industry. This position will fill a key role on REQ’s award-winning creative team.

From crafting catchy taglines and brainstorming new brand names to penning power headlines, web copy, blog posts, social media content, and brand video scripts, the Post-Grad Intern: Copywriting will skillfully harness words and language to capture attention and drive messaging for globally recognized brands. 

The hiring process for this role will include interviews and a short writing exercise. 

What you'll do

  • Work with the Content team to craft compelling copy for fully integrated, multi-channel, brand-integrated campaigns, including video and audio scripts, digital ad copy, email copy, web copy, flyers, blog posts, and more
  • Draft supporting copy for campaign collateral, such as campaign concept descriptions and summaries of design directions
  • Apply feedback, refine, edit and optimize through the very last minute, collaborating with other writers, designers, SEO specialists, content strategists, and account directors to deliver high-stakes deliverables on tight deadlines
  • Write sharp interview questions that elicit colorful and rich stories and insights
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions as a thoughtful listener and active participant
  • Occasionally interface with clients during interviews and presentation
  • Believe that great storytelling can change the world

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Firm working knowledge of English grammar and a meticulous and methodical attention to detail
  • Portfolio of recent published writing, with or without a byline
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, polished professionalism, and comfort with the possibility of taking part in presentations and interfacing with clients
  • Ability to follow specifications to deliver copy for different formats that meet strict requirements for length and character limits
  • Ability to follow direction from senior members of REQ’s Creative team
  • Willingness to accept feedback, go back to the drawing board when necessary, and quickly adapt to changes in direction
  • Ability to pivot quickly between clients and projects
  • Ability to follow basic tenets of remote work, such as checking in, staying in close contact with coworkers, communicating availability, creating plans, and coordinating schedules
