RepEquity Expands With Purchase
January 17, 2011
In an age when the Internet catalogues every indiscretion and users can find them with a quick Google search, District-based RepEquity has built a business by helping companies, celebrities, and politicians to bury content they consider less than flattering.
The firm announced Friday that it has acquired Virilion, a Washington agency that creates Web sites, online video, and mobile apps. Together they will help clients evaluate their online reputations, then design and promote content that casts them in a more positive light.
Tripp Donnelly founded the company in 2007 after 15 years of managing public relations for corporate and government clients. Over the course of his career, Donnelly said, he saw the Internet play an increasingly prominent role as a place for journalists and analysts to conduct research and for the general public to find information.
