Atlas Air, a global leader in aircraft leasing and aviation services, partnered with REQ to establish and grow their social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube. While Atlas Air maintained a presence on social media, the brand lacked a consistent posting cadence and defined content strategy. Our goal through this partnership was to transform its social media presence into an active, engaged community of employees, customers, and brand advocates.

As the partnership evolved, so did the strategy. In 2025, we introduced a shift to incorporate more people-first storytelling that would be relevant to a broader audience to position and communicate Atlas’ impact within the aviation industry. Across platforms, the Atlas audience was eager to see not only the planes, but the how and why behind Atlas’ mission.
Instagram maintained a core community of plane spotters. We continued using this strategy by engaging with spotters, commenting on hashtag and brand mentions, reposting and crediting photographers.. Over the past 3 years, we saw our audience increase to over 270,000 followers. Our initial success with social media helped drive an external blog series and was leveraged for internal communications to keep the Atlas employees constantly engaged.

Across other social media channels, we established guidelines to scale their profiles. We incorporated post categories including employee showcases, company news and events, and customer/partner highlights showcasing their private aviation partnerships with several NFL teams, highlighted unique customer stories to support the unify Atlas’ mission to ‘Carry the World’.

All channels have experienced steady follower growth, typically increasing between 5-15% per month, and engagement growth.

While Atlas Air maintained a presence on social media, there was no consistent posting cadence or defined strategy. The goal was to transform its channels into an active, engaged community of employees, customers, and brand advocates.

REQ actively managed Atlas Air’s social media presence, establishing clear social media guidelines to scale content and ensure consistency across channels. We implemented structured content pillars, including employee spotlights, company news and events, and customer and partner stories, reinforcing Atlas Air’s global impact and strengthening audience connection.

On Instagram specifically, we developed and executed a targeted strategy to integrate Atlas Air into the plane spotter community. This included engaging directly with spotters, interacting with hashtags and brand mentions, reposting and crediting photographers, and launching recurring photo contests. This approach drove sustained audience growth and strong engagement on the platform.
Across all channels, we streamlined content creation through templated formats aligned to each content pillar, improving efficiency and consistency. As a result, Atlas Air experienced steady follower and engagement growth across platforms, with continued momentum in building a highly engaged social audience.
